Hello lovely readers, I have some hard news to share.
Due to the new AI assistant “Ask this book” that Amazon is rolling out, I have decided to remove my ebooks from purchase through Amazon/Kindle. This could be considered the “last straw”, considering Amazon’s continual disrespect and devastating decisions they have made in regards to how they treat their authors. My sales were minimal through Amazon, and I believe I can make better strides in meeting new readers through in-person markets and conferences. New year, new marketing strategy.
If you’ve purchased my Kindle books, they will remain in your library to enjoy. I only ask that you not use “Ask this book” since it is GenAI scraping that I did not consent to, and there’s no ability to opt-out. It is in violation of my copyright.
Here’s an article about “Ask this book”
How long will the ebooks be available in Kindle?
Until this Friday, January 2nd. If you have them on your wishlist, please purchase soon. Or you can check the end of this newsletter for the other stores that have my books.
Print books will remain on sale
For now, my print books seem to be safe from AI chicanery, and I’ve yet to find (unfortunately) a platform that rivals Amazon prices and turnaround times for ordering author copies. I’m investigating IngramSparks and others and will keep you posted if I eventually remove my print books from Amazon. I don’t think I will for a while yet.
Lady Grace and Her Knights
This book is available in KU until the end of February 2026, when the term ends. But if you’re still in the middle of reading it, it won’t disappear, you can still finish it.
You can still find my ebooks on other platforms
There are still numerous stores you can find my ebooks, and for all of them, I can control discounts, so expect really good books at lower prices several times a year (potentially). I hope the lists below encourage you to search other stores for really good books.
My payhip store, and the ebook is delivered by Bookfunnel. You can get the free app or send it to your Kindle.
Barnes & Noble, Apple, Tolino, Vivlio, Smashwords, Gardners, Fable, Kobo (Kobo Plus is a subscription like KU but non-exclusive), among many others.
Overdrive, Odilo, cloudLibrary, Hoopla, BorrowBox
Kobo Plus, Everand
Current projects
I am working with my cover artist for the On Wings saga and hopefully I can show you the finished products sometime in late January. I still have “On Wings of Shadow” and “On Wings of Fate” scheduled to publish in Fall 2026. Edits should start in February. If you’re curious about this 4-book saga, you can get the first two right now, “On Wings of Passion” and “On Wings of Thunder.” If you enjoy reincarnation, soul mates, sexy, possessive dragons, angels, family conflict, and a love that spanned centuries, this saga might be for you!
I hope to finish the last three books for The Stones of Power this year. Maybe I can work in a few single titles as well, but I’m not going to stress about the publishing rat race. Books will happen when they happen.
With the current dystopia we are existing in, being able to create anything is a cause for celebration. I hope all of you have a creative outlet to get through the hard times.
Thank you for your continual support.
May dragons guard your dreams,
M.D. Grimm
